Students Help at International Mixer Driver Championship

Today, Wednesday, March 23, NJIT-CIM students was appointed has helped National Ready Mix Concrete Association, NRMCA, by being appointed as judges in the International Mixer Driver Championship (6:30 am to 2 pm). The event was a complete success and was under the supervision of Gary Mullings and Karen Bean from NRMCA. Doug Ruhlin, the Principal Environmental Consultant of Resource Management Associates was the event announcer. Ferrara Brothers were represented by Joseph Ferrara, The president and CEO of Ferrara Brothers. They were participating in the event with one driver. The runner-up and winner were announced and they received their trophy at the end of the championship. After the competition was over, CIM students took turns in driving the concrete trucks. CIM students have also helped cleaning the area after the big event was over.


During this event, there was a meeting of all CIM directors from the five CIM schools to discuss the CIM curriculum updates. Also, CIM had a kick off auction meeting.

After 2 pm CIM students attended ConAgg ConExp Show and took turns managing the CIM booth along with MTSU CIM students. NJIT-CIM students participated in BASF Jeopardy contest and won some gifts for participation.

Mike Schneider, CIM Chairman

Ketan Sompura, the Product Manager and Key Project Manager at Sika Corporation

This was another long day and students were so excited.
