NJIT Students Pass ACI Field Testing

Several NJIT CIM students recently passed ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I. Seven of our eight students who took the exam on Monday Apr 11 successfully passed. The eighth student passed the performance test and did not do god in the written. He is planning to repeat the written test in June. This is about 93 % success rate. For the first time ever, and thanks to NJ ACI Chapter, these exams and preparation courses ($565 worth) have been offered for free to the CIM students.

ACI offers 17 certification programs designed to form a minimum qualification for personnel employed within the concrete construction industry. Certification examinations and optional training courses are conducted through an international network of over 100 Local Sponsoring Groups. Since 1980, ACI has administered exams to over 350,000 individuals, with over 90,000 certifications currently maintained by ACI. The Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I is one of them. A Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I is an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform and record the results of seven basic field tests on freshly mixed concrete.

Because of this overwhelming results, we have been offered four more free spots for June 18 Concrete Field Testing. I would like to thank Casimir Bognacki, The Chief Material Engineer in NY-NJ Port Authority (also the Treasurer of NJ ACI Chapter) and Dianne Johnston, The Executive Director of NJ ACI Chapter for offering our students these great opportunities.
