CIM Students Attend Concrete Industry Events

It has been a very busy spring for the CIM students as they have traveled to numerous industry shows and conferences. In early March, many CIM students attended the NPCA Precast Show in Orlando, Florida. During their time, many attended a tour of Aercon Florida, LLC - the only manufacturer of aerated autoclaved concrete (AAC) in the United States. During their tour, the students saw firsthand the process involved in AAC production. After the tour, the students returned to the precast show and had the opportunity to network with companies in the precast industry.

Also in early March, many CIM students attended the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) conference in Savannah, Georgia. Students from NJIT, MTSU, and Arizona State had the opportunity to meet and network with industry leaders as well as fellow CIM students and faculty.

CIM students also traveled to the spring 2012 ACI convention in Dallas, Texas. Many competed in the concrete bowling ball competition composed of 36 teams from across the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico. After the student competition, many attended the opening session and awards program where NJIT was named an Excellent ACI University. CIM students also took advantage of the Student and Young Professional Networking Event. Special thanks to ACI for their continued support for the CIM program.
