MTSU CIM Volunteers Install Decorative Concrete at Kentucky Veterans Center

Stained concrete and decorative saw cuts helped convert an under-utilized outdoor space into a therapeutic garden for the residents of Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center. The final project included cleaning and staining approximately 5,000-square-feet of existing concrete, sawcutting and staining a compass rose emblem depicting military and patriotic icons, and sawcutting and staining a large checkerboard.

The project was managed by Todd Scharich, decorative concrete specialist for the ASCC and included volunteer students Wyatt Brandt, Ryan Jessie and Mary Michael Jett, all from the CIM program at Middle Tennessee State University.
