Northeast Patrons Meeting Update

NJIT hosted our bi-annual Northeast Concrete Industry Management Patrons meeting on Thursday, November 17th. This year's Patrons meeting was marked with a record setting turnout of nearly 50 attendees including our distinguished CIM local Patrons, CIM graduates, NJIT administration,  and special guests. Below is a summary of the program:

  • The program now has 40 students and with the aggressive strategy and efforts of Anlee Orama (the new NJIT CIM Specialist) is on track to be up to 60 by next year.
  • All graduates are currently employed and almost 20% of current students are working in the industry part time, (outside the required internship).
  • Mentors are needed!! Students would love the opportunity to have a mentor to help guide them through the program and into a successful career.
  • Three presentations were given by two current and former NJIT students. Two students highlighted the vast amount they learned in just a few short months of their internships in the industry. In addition, a recent graduate talked about his experience in the industry since graduation. In summary, overall we saw a real testament to the value of the program to the industry. NJIT is producing talented, young professionals that will surely add value and have an impact on the industry (even before they graduate)!
